I think that everyone's noticed that this forum isn't all that active. I was thinking about why all the older members left and it occured to me that the actual structure of the phases doesn't encourage activity. For example, if you get stuck for a signaficant amount of time on a phase, and you aren't getting anywhere there isn't really much else to do, unless you suddenly get hit by idea.

It's been over a year since there have been any new phases, and my idea is to add more, but not in the way you'd think. Adding more phases onto phase 100 wouldn't make any sense, because there wouldn't be anyone around to enjoy them. I'm thinking if we could add phases on in a way that people of lower phases can work on them, that would be great. That way if you get stuck on the regular phases you can turn to one of these and work on them, while you wait for ideas.

As for how to actually implement these phases, I have thought up a couple of ways. First, we could have a permanent bonus quest of about 10 riddles set up for each riddling class. I know 50 more riddles sounds ambicious, but I think it can be done, especially if the community lends a hand and throws up some ideas. The other idea that I had would be to have something like the notpr0n minus levels, where you can work backwards through the riddles as well as forwards.

The downside of this suggestion that I can see is that it will be more work for the adminstrators, but like I said, I think that this can be overcome if the community pitches in. So, what do you guys think of this idea?

Well, you can always pm us. Of course there are certain places we cant go in the way of hints, but we will do our best. But I like the idea, in fact I love the idea, of new phases and such. Kind of a side web riddler. But I also want to go past 100 phases though. So I think we start submitting riddle ideas to jax and myself so we can try to get em going. Although I would like to do them so I think we should pass em along to Jax only and if you want to send your ideas to me you can as well and i will talk to jax as well since I talk to him all the time online. Send away and lets get this idea rolling.

ive only just recently done 28 and still waiting to go to 29, but once you have done a phase, its done, you dont go back to it, theres only ever 1 riddle to solve, if you get what I mean...

What if you are stuck on the side idea and the wr phases? Then you would be back where you started wouldnt you....

on the front page you have "WR 2" as a forum name
inside WR 2 you have 10 subforums named 1, 2, 3...ect up to 10
in order to get into "2" you need the answer to "1"
to get into 3 you need 2
ect...

Just so you guys know, I'm not neglecting Web Riddler - I'm working on something off to the side that will help the site immensely. Namely, my control of site functionality. This means I should be able to implement almost anything. I won't go into specifics until I have something to show you guys - but expect some polls on functionality you would like to be implemented/changed.
